Awful / Awesome

Last week. Oh, last week.... 

I'm a little frustrated with this past week. 

Awful:

-I did not attend my institute class

-I had terrible dreams about being fired from my job. They made me feel a little worthless.

-I gave myself a "personal day" and ignored all of my many responsibilities. It did more harm than good... I was an emotional wreck.

-The car got a flat tire. It actually looks like someone slashed it??

-The holiday shake at Sonic ain't that great... 

-Money. 

Awesome:

-I had a crazy fun birthday! 

-I held the cutest, sleepy puppy. 

-THIS VIDEO.

-The weather. Well, I'm actually a little torn on the weather. We're still in the 70s and it will continue this way for this week as well. Definitely not as cold as last year. So yeah, I don't know how to feel about it.

Here's to this week! I have no choice but to be productive, with final projects, a paper, and an exam to worry about. Winter break is just around the corner.... 

Too many things to do

Awful: 

1. I didn't finish my last photography project... I turned in two photographs instead of four. Yikes. 

2. My teacher turned down my original plan for my next drawing workshop project. Made me feel kinda low. 

3. Slooooow shifts at work. 

4. I have too many things to do tomorrow before 2:30pm. 

5. Resisting the urge to buy food at school... or buying anything, in general. Budgeting, maaaaaannnn. 

6. My bangs look super weird in these photos. Time to get a trim. 

7. We're canceling Netflix to save a little dough. Goodbye, Doctor Who. 

8. Thinking of canceling my gym membership as well. I don't go nearly as often as I did in the summer. 

Awesome:

1. Had an awesome photo shoot with friends! 

2. Watched The Avengers on a 3D tv and went night swimming in a heated pool at a swanky house that my sister-in-law was house sitting for. We felt rich for a night. 

3. Ryan's birthday is this week! 

4. Star Wars dance is this week! 

5. Mikelle had her baby!

I'm promising myself that this week WILL be better than last week! I work one day less, so this means more time for homework and studying. I hope. I can do this, right?

Awful/Awesome

This past week:

Awful: 

-Not being able to sleep when Ryan was out of town. I'm such a baby. 

-Ryan's car is dead. This probably means that we'll reserve the money we have saved up for a trip for a new car instead.

-Cockroaches  

-Washing my undies in the sink because I forgot to do laundry 

Awesome: 

-Tip money! 

-We had a "service auction" for church (an auction used with points rather than money) and the thing I offered, a free family photo shoot, got some pretty high bids! I wasn't there, because I totally forgot about it, but it's nice to hear that a lot of people want a photo shoot from me. Perhaps this will be a great business opportunity to get more clients. 

-Speaking of family photo shoots, I've got photos of a cute little family to edit :) 

-Going to a wedding reception where hats and gloves were encouraged

This dress happens to be one of those dresses that you might be unsure of at first, but then when you try it on, it's magic. Never underestimate an article of clothing you've never tried on. 

Awful Things, Awesome Things

I got my haircut yesterday. I went from hating it, to loving it, to hating it again. But today I like it. My hair just naturally flips out when it's this length. I think that's a good thing? Flippy hair? Anyway, I really like my bangs now. I really had to instruct the hairstylist on how I wanted them cut. 

Trivial girl stuff. 

This past week...

Awful: 

- Both cars crapped out on us. But you already know all about that from this post.

- The heat. Duh. 

- Electricity bill... 

- Being short $9.00 when reporting my tips at work. 

- I left my tripod in my friend's car (Ryan was kind enough to take these photos). 

Awesome: 

- Hanging out with a friend and printmaking!

- Going home early from work yesterday

- Root beer floats at church today 

- Dancing in the kitchen and making dinner with Ryan 

- Accepting a photo job for August

Awful/Awesome

So many awful things, so any awesome things this past week.
Let's begin.

Awful:

- Not being able to find some decent roller blades in my size for work.
- This week seemed like the longest.
- Going to get an oil change and finding out that Ryan's car has a leak. We haven't had it looked at yet...
- Not being able to find The Great Gatsby at the library
- Eating at a Chinese restaurant and being very dissatisfied with my meal, so we went out for frozen custard and I got full from that instead... Oh wait, maybe that's awesome.
- Realizing that I really need to stick to a budget
- It's been real smoggy 'round these parts. Apparently some mountains were on fire :|

Awesome: 
- I've reached 40 followers! Thanks guys :)
- Finding a pair of running shoes that fit! All I had to do was look in the little boys' section at Big 5.
- Planning a trip to Santa Fe to see fun. live... for freeeeeee
- Getting a new library card with my married name on it (I lost my old one...)
- Bearing my testimony in church today about remembering to be thankful and humble. I've got work to do, but by bearing my testimony about the subject, I am determined to do better
- Reading this blog post. Once again, the thankful thing
- Being in love (cheeeeeeesy)

Oh Sunday, blessed Sunday. Thank you for Sundays. 

I've worked a lot this week, just as much as last week, and it can get tiring after a while: being in the heat and wearing skates for 6-7 hours. You know. 

My week in a nut shell~

Awful: 

- When I didn't look like this:

 I looked like this:

- Eating too much fast food... us Sonic employees aren't allowed to bring our own food to work. Lame, eh? It's especially difficult when you don't eat beef, pork, or chicken.
- Stressing over giving a talk and preparing a lesson for church.
- Going to bed at 3:30 in the morning because I was watching Glee after I got home from my night shift, and then laying awake in bed for another hour just thinking about the things I want (but can't afford) and trips I wanna take. I had to be at work the next morning at 11 and I woke up with just enough time to get ready. I was a wreck at work though.

Awesome: 
- Being rewarded with free mochi at the sushi restaurant for correcting the waitress on our total (she forgot to add the cost of the sushi to our main dishes). It was my first time eating mochi. So. Good.

- Getting my work schedule for this next week: I don't work as much :)
- My talk (speech) in church went well, and so did my lesson for the youth.
- I'm super excited to watch the second season of The Glee Project this summer
- When I walked into Holly's house to feed her cat today, I found this on the coffee table:

More Awful Things, More Awesome Things

Awful things this last week: 
1. Missing out on my sister's Birthday dinner because I had to finish a project that night. (It was sushi too!)
2. Procrastination...
3. COMPLETELY being misinformed about a critique in my printmaking class. So. Unprepared.
4. New co-workers that are best friend, high school cheerleaders...
5. Finding out that a relative of mine has breast cancer :(

Awesome things this last week: 
1. Finding a check for $50 that I forgot I had. sdfjljdsfgjlasd!!!
2. Looking through old photographs at the in-laws'.
3. Easter. And homemade strawberry shortcake.
4. Tax return.
5. Killing lots of roaches >:)
6. Finding this photo of my deceased great grandmother:

I'm not too sure if she realizes what she's wearing. 

Looks like this awful/awesome thing is gonna be a regular type of post around here.

Awful Things, Awesome Things

Good Day. 

Just reminiscing this last week...

Some awful things that happened:

1. My partner in Art History decided to drop the class right before our presentation, leaving me to give the presentation alone. 

2. Having a bad, bad case of the Mondays. 

3. The exterminator came... but two days after he did, we saw four cockroaches. Gross. I've gotta take matters into my own hands. 

4. Getting my grade back from the last exam. 

5. Spending $11 on printing some photos at Kinkos for a project when I should have printed them at school for $4. 

Some awesome things that happened: 

1. Skipping a class and finding out the next day that it was cancelled all along. Win! 

2. Hanging out with a good friend that I haven't seen in a long time. 

3. Hello Panda Cookies at the dollar section of Target. 

4. Organizing the apartment. 

5. Going on an impromptu double date and eating some dang good New Mexican food at Andele's. 

6. Buying gifts for people =^.^= 

7. Singing at the Easter fireside for church. 

So I'm realizing that it's pretty tough to try and keep a blog while having no internet. This is why I hardly post. I always think of taking outfit photos, but I get a little exhausted just thinking of when I'll be able to post them. We've already discussed how I'm not comfortable blogging where other people could possibly see what I'm up to in this post. I know I haven't got a lot of followers of this blog, so maybe my presence isn't missed too much. *shrug* 

I hope to get back in the habit of blogging  my little heart out, but until then, have a nice life.
