Thursday

I should be studying for my test.
I really should.
I always seems that I find the need to blog when I'm super busy with other things like school and work. Blah.
Anyway, I'm in love with "All Alone" by fun right now.

You know what song I hate from this album? "It Gets Better."
And I'm pretty tired of hearing "We Are Young."

I will be so glad once today is over.

Spring Fever

I finally have spring fever... after Spring Break is through.

I got slapped in the face with a few surprises this Tuesday:

1. Today was "a print in a day" day in my printmaking class. Do you know how long it can take to make a print, using any type of method? And we had to produce and print in one class period. I didn't finish my print in class so I came tonight to print 'em out. I must say though, I do like the outcome:
A couple of eel people.
We're having a critique for these, along with an "in progress" critique for another project on Thursday. Another project that I have not yet started. Not that it matters to you. Sigh.

2. There's an exam in my Art History class on Thursday as well. Haven't even studied for that.

3. I realized that the film my father-in-law gave me is probably color film, and not black and white film. My school is ghetto and we don't have the facilities to develop colored film. I wish we did. So I suppose I've gotta go buy some film tonight and take photos tomorrow morning before my class at 11:30. Not too shabby?

Sorry about all the negativity. Here's a picture of me smiling to make up for it:
skirt and blouse are thrifted

Looks like I need to cut these bang again.

Well, I've wasted enough time blogging!
Get it done, GIIIIRRRRRRRRRLLL.

Korean Drama and The Hunger Games

During the break I was able to re-watch some of my favorite Korean drama, Playful Kiss. A lot of people may hate this one because they find the main character to be annoying, but whatever, yo. Besides that, they've got a pretty cute wardrobe on this here show. I took a few screenshots. They're a little blurry. Ah, I just swoon over the clothes.

So yes. Everyone and their mom was at the midnight premiere of The Hunger Games in my smallish city. It was exciting. I really enjoyed the movie and I must say that I need to see it again in theaters to reanalyze every scene. I was really disappointing with the "bread scene." Hello? How hard would it have been to get a couple of kids to play little Katniss and little Peeta? The way the scene was portrayed makes it seem like, "Oh, I remember throwing that bread to you... because it was yesterday."

I was very impressed with that Josh guy that plays Peeta. I never thought that he'd do a bad job, it's just that I personally cannot find him attractive, him being the Zathura kid and all. But being attractive isn't what it's really about, right? Haha. Right. And Jennifer Lawrence is exactly what a Katniss should be. Very serious. And BA. And tall. I like that she's tall.

Like I said, I've gotta go see it again.

Not My House

I usually don't like to take my outfit photos inside, but it is DISGUSTING outside today. It is very, very windy, and this is the desert, so a ton of dirt is in the air. The sky is brown, my friends.

Some more cat love.

It turns out I'm going to work more shifts than I expected this week. I thought I'd be able to leave town for a day, but the only days off I have this week are Thursday (Hunger Games day!) and Sunday. So it looks like Whites Sand and/or Albuquerque are out of the question. I'll still find fun things to do during the break.

Purr Purrr Purrrr

This is Mia, Holly's cat.
She's being a real cuddle monster right now...
which I absolutely love.

So while her parents are gallivanting about New York, she and I are gonna hang. She'll get some human time and I'll get some cat time... and internet time too... ;)

There's fur all over my keyboard.
Whatever.

Stripes

I'm actually in my digital photo class right now... "researching" artists to inspire us for our next assignment. It's my last class before Spriiiiiiiiiing Breeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaakkk.
Don't have much planned for the break. I'll be feeding my friend's cat while she's in New York. I'd like to go with husby to White Sands. Or to Albuquerque to visit his sister and our brand, spankin' new niece (born only yesterday!). I'm definitely looking forward to the midnight premiere of The Hunger Games. Oh, and I've challenged myself to try a couple of new recipes. The vegetarian cookbook my mother-in-law gave me for Christmas is brilliant. The recipes are more simple than other veggie cookbooks and they're Ryan friendly. Boy is particular, but then so am I.

Everything about this outfit is thrifted, 'cept the shoes and bow.
WIN.

Been a While

Oh, hey there.
It's been while since I last posed for outfit pictures, so I felt a little awkward doing so yesterday. I've really gotten out of the habit. I've even neglected plucking my brows and wearing makeup because of it too, haha. But I did finally shave my legs. It's getting warm! And soon it will be HOT...

Anyway, did anyone know that High School Musical China exists?!
I rented this yesterday and watched it with Ryan. The love story is basically the same, but the songs are very different. The lyrics... interesting. I enjoyed it. Maybe it's just because I like Asian humor? Haha, I'm weird. Anyway, I'm off to class.

Photograms

My last darkroom assignment was to create 8-10 photograms. My teacher showed some examples of photograms in class and I was very taken with Robert Heinecken's work. He used magazine images and I loved that it showed both the front and back of the ad.

I added objects to mine.

And here are my favorites from Heinecken:

With all that art business aside, I'd like to apologize for not posting nearly as regularly as I once had. I have been spending a lot of my free time at the art building, finishing projects. I finished a couple of them today and now I've got to start on a paper for my Art History class that's due on Tuesday. (I totally thought it was due this Thursday, so I'm a little pressed for time @___@) I'm having Ryan help me. I got an A ( I usually get Bs on papers...) on the last paper he helped me with, so now he's my go to guy for this kind of thing.

Spring break is next week, and you could probably bet that I'll be posting more often, even with my lack of internet. I've recently gone thrifting and found some things for cheap cheap cheap :)
