Printmaking is Not Dead

I just really love printmaking, guys.
I'm not officially in a printmaking class this semester. I'm taking a "drawing" workshop class and my teacher is SUPER lenient about what we do in that class, so I've chosen printmaking. The new printmaking teacher is cool with me working in the print shop, and he invited me to come to their next critique. Ha, I'm basically in the class. And I love it. I'm choosing to attend a critique for a class I'm not enrolled in: if that's not love, I don't know what is.

I have a lot of green ink left over after making this consumerism project. Christmas cards? I think yes.

Houpt Clan

Here are my favorites!

This week looks like another busy one. If my work schedule continues this way, I will be one very stressed art student. All is well. Gotta take one thing at a time, I suppose. As usual.

In photography news:
a) Still gotta edit photos of Audrey and Sam at the temple (sheesh!)
b) Had an engagement shoot yesterday and it went very well
c) Got asked to shoot a wedding today
Exciting stuff.

Now please excuse me as I attempt to get to sleep earlier than usual.

Cool, Not Cool, Undecided

Cool:
-My sister in law was sealed to her husband last Saturday!
-Experiencing all of Ryan's siblings together again
-Huge family photo shoot
-Baking Amish friendship bread
-Getting an extension to finish my photography project
-Holly invited me to go to The Shins concert in a couple of weeks! And hopefully the Balloon Fiesta. (Crossing my fingers)

Not Cool:
-Procrastinating my paper for art history and only getting 4 hours of sleep
-Injuring my toe and non-stop crying.
-Working on a Friday night for eight hours.

Undecided:
-Eating nothing but Amish friendship bread
-Trying to figure out who to give the Amish bread starters to. It's a process, people. If I don't give all four away I'll be stuck with more bread to make and more starter bags.
-Taking the truck to get fixed. We're using one of the in-law's cars in the meantime.
-Preparing to sing a duet in Sunday school (or rather forgetting about it...)

This is the outfit I wore to the temple for my sis-in-law's sealing. I haven't had the time to edit all the photos from last weekend. I got about half of them done this morning, so I might post them Sunday/Monday. This week was crazy busy and it went by so fast!
Hope you all have a fun weekend :)

Mini Family Reunion

Just a sneak peak at the family photos we took over the weekend. Forty-nine tries and we did not get one group photo where we all look good. I foresee some photoshopping of heads in my near future, something my dad can help me with.
But look at how much fun we're all having!
It was a great weekend... I'll post more about it later this week once I actually edit ALL of the photos.

Rainy Day

This weekend was a rainy one. It rained all night in Friday and all day on Saturday.  Everyone around here was enjoying a break from the heat, but it just made me feel sleepy! I felt a bit lethargic all day. At least I got wear my boots and this beanie. And I got to go to my friend's baptism! It was beautiful. I have worked with her for a little over two years now. She's one of my favorite co-workers.

I wanted to post these pictures on Saturday but our router crapped out on us because of the lightning storm on Friday. We're getting a new one in the mail, but I'm not sure when that'll come. In the meantime, I've been browsing stuff on my phone. I tried using the blogger app, but it kind of really SUCKS. Maybe it's just my phone, but that app is just a huge fail if you want to try and create a new post. It's got problems.

Anyway, have a good week.

A Borrowed Idea

So I follow this hilarious blog that belongs to a fellow New Mexican. He was in the same ward as me until he moved up north. The stories he tells about his daily life on each of his blog posts crack me up. You should take a look. ANYWAY. He made a venn diagram of his interests versus his wife's interest. It looked like fun, so I stole borrowed his idea.

I don't have any funny stories to go along with the diagram, I mostly did this to see the things that Ryan and I actually enjoy doing together, haha. Sometimes they're easy to forget when we get into the habit of just watching Netflix every night. (Speaking of Netflix, season four of Parks and Rec is available now!) I like to see all the differences between Ryan and I. You can probably tell by this diagram that Ryan is a left brain thinker and I am definitely a right brain thinker. I admire all the things that he can do that I can't do/struggle with. He's definitely a well-rounded gentleman.

What are things that you and your significant other enjoy doing? I'd love to hear :)

p.s.! I've linked up over at Modern Modest Beauty to take part in Jenny's Sunday Style Linky Party. Hop on over to take a look at the other girls who have shared their Sunday attire.

Farmer's Market

I haven't been to the farmers' market in over a year, so when I saw all the cool booths selling cool things today, I was pretty excited. I decided to get some Christmas shopping done while there. I don't care that it's only September, I've decided to get that crap done early. Last year was sooooo stressful! There are simply too many people that I want to get presents for (Ryan has SIX siblings, four which are married, and two that have kids. That's a lot of people, mm-kay?). I really do love shopping for other people, I just figured that getting a head start would make things less stressful.

My sister accompanied me.

Check out those dino rings!
The sweetest lady makes these beauties.

Caprese sandwich. Nom.
I got a couple of t-shirts for myself and (of course) a dream catcher. I love supporting local artists.
How was your Saturday?
