My friend Tara is an awesome photographer and an aspiring film maker :) We helped each other out and made this fun video! I had a lot of fun dressing up and frolicking about in the mountains. This video is one of the gifts I gave Ryan today. Enjoy :D

Yes, More Pink

I'm sure that every church outfit this month will be Valentines' themed. Deal with it :)
(I've got green ink on my hands from a marker I used during church today. Oops.)
I really am excited about this Valentine season. I've got a fun project in the works and a Galentine party to host. Holla! Sadly, I'll be working the night of Valentine's day, but no worries! Hope everyone has a bearable Monday <3

Guest Post: Jessi of Haircut &General Attitude

 Hi there, friends of Beverly!
My name is Jessi and I share my style and little tidbits of life over at Haircut & General Attitude. I'm pretty excited to be part of this cute series, what a great idea! Like Beverly, I just love Valentines Day! It definitely helps that I'm happily married to my one and only, but I've always been a romantic. And such a holiday calls for getting all dolled up in varying shades of red and pink. What could be better? You get to play dress-up and celebrate love!
I'm more of a pink kind of girl but red lips are my favorite accessory and these burgundy heels are easily becoming a staple in my closet. And I HAD to wear my heart print legging shorts so I added another touch of black and white with this darling headband. As for the dress, what could be more feminine and romantic than pale pink sequins and chiffon?!
Well, I hope you all enjoy your Holiday and find some way to celebrate whether you have a special someone or not. I'll be spending the day making googly eyes at my sexy Hubby, my dearest friend, "the one in whom my soul delights" (if you want more gushy-mushiness I might have more for you on the blog this weekend;) )
Outfit Details:
Dress & Heels - Forever 21
Heart Print Leggings - Wet Seal
Cardigan & Headband - ModCloth
Belt - off a dress c/o Tailor&Stylist
Gold Chain Bracelet - YuniKelley
Mint Bracelet - Gift

(Thanks a ton, Jessi! I admire you for taking these photos in the cold snow! Make sure to check out Jessi's blog, especially if you love velvet. The girl can rock some velvet. That, and red lips <3 )

Guest Post: Katherine of Thrifted Things

skirt, shirt, sweater: thrifted, tights&necklace: charming charlie, shoes: target

Hello lovely readers of What a Day! I'm so happy to be with you here today! I'm Katherine from Thrifted Things; a blog about cheap clothing and ramblings about my life. Cute Beverly asked me to style an outfit inspired by Valentine's Day. To be completely honest--I hate the holiday. It's a holiday filled with gifts, over dramatized love, and spending pointless money. I think it's great that people celebrate love for one another, but I don't think it should just be one day a year; it should be every day. I don't need a huge teddy bear and a heart full of candy to know that I am loved. I think actions speak louder than words and I definitely feel love by how people treat me and by kind acts of service.

But if Valentine's Day is your thing, then great! Celebrate the crap out of it.Thanks for having me Beverly!

(Thanks Katherine! I agree with you that love should be celebrated all year long. Thanks for putting together such a darling outfit! Make sure to check out Katherine's cool blog! I hope everyone has a fun weekend! Stay tuned for more awesome guest posts)

Valentine Gift Exchange!

I participated in a Valentine gift exchange and was paired up with Caitlyn, blogger of Most Adoringly
And me oh my, do I adore her!

I decided to make a video while I opened the package she sent me, to make it genuine, ya know? (I like to see other's reactions when I give a gift, so...) This is only the second video I've posted here on the blog and for some reason the audio is WAY off! About two seconds off. (Maybe because I was playing music on my laptop at the same time?) It's pretty annoying, but hey, if you ever wondered what my voice sounds like, well, here it is!
Caitlyn later told me that she made the headband and necklace herself. Awesome! I'm wearing the necklace right now, actually :) I think it will become one of my favorite pieces of jewelry.

I was glad that Caitlyn and I got matched together because we ended up having so much in common! We're both art students, photographers, and enjoy thrifting. She is such a creative soul! It's nice to meet a fellow art student who can relate to all the craziness of art classes. Amirite?
Be sure to visit Caitlyn's blog to see the Valentine gifts I sent her!

Happy February!

So I really love February. I love love and pink and red and frills and lace and hearts, ya know. I just do. And I have some fun stuff planned for the blog the week leading up to Valentine's Day! I'm very excited about it, so stay tuned~
In other news....
I've decided to quit my job.
It's a pretty scary thing to bring up, I think, but I feel it is the best thing for me at this time. Remember how overwhelmed I said I was in my last post? With the realization of how much work I will have to do taking FOUR studio art classes plus an art history course? Well, the only way I think I'll be able to survive this semester is to dedicate most of my time to my art, and I can't do that while working late shifts during the week and day shifts on the weekends (I could really use that daylight on the weekends for photography opportunities).
Yes, I'm scared about our money situation. Thankfully Ryan is working this semester.
Let the starving artist life begin....
In other other news, I have been watching The Lizzie Bennet Diaries and it is hilarious and very intriguing. Check it out (if you already haven't) to watch Pride and Prejudice in the 21st century. Seriously, that's like all I did this weekend, besides going to work.
