What's Up

Please disregard my last post! See, I thought that I had the opportunity to have my BFA show this semester and receive my diploma after taking summer school, but I need 9 credits to graduate and summer school is expensive (like duh). Plus, there are very few art summer classes, and I would have had to take dumb online classes that have nothing to do with my major, so that would have been all around lame. I'm better off graduating in the fall as originally planned. But heeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyy, just ONE MORE SEMESTER!

Some fun news is that I will still be participating in an art show this semester. A non-BFA show. My photo classmates and I are putting it together and it's pretty exciting :) It'll be practice for next semester.

In other news, as you may have noticed, I've been neglecting this blog. I miss posting outfits here, but there are more important school related things happening. In a way, I'm enjoying this break from blogging. I feel a little guilty sometimes for not blogging, like I'm procrastinating.... But then I figure that I have the rest of my life to bliggity-blog, but I only have ONE "spring 2013" semester. Ya know?  So I'm not apologizing. Plus, not very many exciting things are happening to be blogged about. So there you go. I prefer quality over quantity when it come to blog posts.

In other, other news~
I'm freaking out about a few things. Namely money.
I need to find a job for the summer. I've been thinking of waitressing? Only because it's similar to my last job at Sonic. I'd rather just take a bunch of photos and get paid that way, but my photo biz situation is looking a little grim. I've gotta offer discounts soon (even though I think I'm super duper cheap anyway, people around here still don't wanna pay it.... *frustrating*). Does anyone have any photo business advice?? I could really use some! :) Or does anyone have job suggestions? What was your favorite part time job?
Comments are very much appreciated.

Unexpected and Exciting News!

These photos are from my latest lighting project.

Due to some changes in my school's registration stuff and some misunderstandings on my part, it looks like I will be having my BFA show this semester instead of in the fall! I realized all of the mistakes in my audit report last week and met with my teacher and advisor to clear a few things up, and what do you know? I only need 9 credits to graduate. I will be taking a few summer classes and receive my diploma in the mail. What whaaaaaat??!

I have many things to prepare (only a month until the show...) and as a result, may not be blogging as frequently. I'm excited and terrified!

A Mini Documentary

I chose to make a documentary for my recent video art class project. This video ties into my focus in photography this semester: documenting the relationships between young children and their caregivers. I had a few technical issues (including forgetting to press the "record" button a few times and missing out on some adorable play time...) as this is only my first documentary. I'm planning on making another with my sister-in-law, if she agrees(!), who is a nanny.

Print Shop

Just a simple outfit that I wore on Monday. I was excited to wear my new butterfly brooch and was very pleased with how this outfit turned out. I wasn't planning on taking a photo, but luckily I bumped into Anne at school and I had my SLR handy.
I feel like I've been avoiding this place lately. I've been unable to work on my printmaking during class time since I literally have another class at the same time. I'm taking it as more of an independent study, so it's been a little tough getting motivated for this class; I work better with my print buddies (it's just more fun!! Plus I feel like we motivate each other and stuff). Anyway, I'm glad that spring break is over. I felt pretty "useless" last week, and now I'm glad to be back at working on projects. There's only about a month left of school (whaaat??) and I'm determined to work really hard at it!

Makin' My Way Downtown

Anne and I made our way downtown to the farmers' market last Saturday and this is what I wore~
shirt & pants: Marshall's, shoes & belt: thrifted, necklace: Splendid
I tried to convince Anne to take a photo with this dancing statue, but she said I should since my sleeves matched his wings.

The day in which we discovered that you can't crack an egg in your armpit.
Go ahead, try.
