Hoop! There it is.

I finally got around to editing this video I took of my sister dancing with a hula hoop when we were in New Mexico earlier this month. I'm mesmerized! My original idea was to film this at White Sands, but busy schedules and more important things prevented us from going. I really like how this turned out, though. Especially the part with the headlights at 1:38.

Friday Friend-zy

(I swear, we're not actually Pepsi models. )
Hey, hi, hello! If you're a long time reader of this blog then you'll remember a little something called "Friday Friendzy" featuring my lovely friend Anne. Dude, we used to take the cutest pics, but then we both got pregnant and then I moved away. Life, amirite? While I was in town last weekend, I knew we had to get together and take photos for old-time's sake. Taking these photos with two babies running around had proven to be very difficult. The next go around (whenever that may be!!) we'll probably keep the babes at home, or bring another friend to keep them from running into the street....

You guys, I'm getting nostalgic! Reminisce with me about the old days (aka 2 years ago) by looking through all of our old Friday Friendzy posts

Birthday Smash

Happy Birthday, Gwen!! She looks pretty uninterested in these photos because she was tired. We had a party with family in New Mexico over the weekend. I'm so glad that a lot of people were able to celebrate with us! I wish that I had taken more photos of the actual party, but I just wanted to relax with our friends and family after all of the time consuming party prep. I think for the next baby I'll hire a photographer for the first birthday. Gwen was a little scared meeting a lot of new people. It was so sad: she'd cry whenever someone "new" would hold her. Sorry, mom and dad! I think she was starting to warm up to my parents near the end of our visit.
My mother-in-law helped me decorate the cupcakes. A lot of people complimented the homemade icing.
I was so pleased that Gwen actually smashed the cupcake. I've been to a couple of 1st birthday parties where the babies had no clue what to do with their cakes, so I wasn't sure what to expect with Gwen.

Wow, a year! I didn't get as emotional as I thought I'd get on her birthday because a couple of weeks ago I got pretty emotional looking through photos and videos of her as a newborn. So I must have gotten it all out of my system, I guess. ;) We actually ended up having two parties for this baby- one out of town with family and one on her actual birthday this week with our church family. I was so surprised with how many people showed up to the last one! It made us feel so special. And Gwen was spoiled with presents! A big thanks to all of you gift givers! I'm mostly excited about all of her new books. She has been enjoying reading time more and more.

I have an idea of what I want to do for her 1 year photo shoot, but we'll see when that gets done.

August in Photos

I'm still going strong in the #ourproject180 challenge. I haven't missed a day all month, even though there are 2(??) photos missing here. I missed a photo while matching the images together in Photoshop, and then I accidentally deleted another one and forgot to find it again. Whatevs. A couple of these are also out of order. It's fiiiiiiiiine. It's past 1am and I'm calling it good.

I've kind of slacked about making these photos look cohesive. I originally thought I could try like, a new way of editing the photos for each month, but I don't think I'd like how they will all look together. So I guess I'm still trying to figure out my "style." Good news is that the few photos I've taken for September look awesome together. I'll make up for it!

Sunrise Bridal Session

My favorites from a bridal/first look session I did last month! We actually didn't plan to do a "First Look," but when I got to the temple, Kevin, the groom, had arrived 15 minutes before the bride, so I suggested that we try it. He called Kelli (his bride) and we arranged it on the spot. A few minutes before she arrived, Kevin told me that they actually hadn't seen each other for a whole month because he's been in Europe. What??! So that made me feel super giddy and I was excited to capture their reactions. It was so sweet.
