And as promised, the best chocolate chip cookie recipe ever:

preheat oven, 350 degrees 

cream: 

3 eggs 

3/4 cups sugar

3/4 cups brown sugar

1 cup of shortening 

1 tsp vanilla

add and mix in:

1 tsp salt

1 tsp baking soda

3 cups flour 

stir in 1/2 bag of chocolate chips 

place by the spoonful on an un-greased cookie sheet

bake for 13 minutes

In other news~
I was released from my church calling yesterday. I was an advisor to the Mia Maids (14-15 year old girls) for a little over two years. Yesterday I gave my last lesson and I even cried a little bit afterward. I will miss those girls! I'm anxious to find out what my new calling will be...

A Very Different Look

 Well, I'm putting up these photos a bit late! They were taken a couple of weeks ago when my sister was in town. Check her out on Facebook  and Tumblr. And if you're in the Albuquerque area and looking for a photographer, look no more! That's where she's located~ Speaking of Albuquerque (and New Mexico in general), do I have any followers/fellow bloggers from this state? I have yet to come across another fashion blogger that is located in NM, and honestly, it makes me a little sad. Someone, please direct me to the New Mexican bloggers!

Ashley did my hair and makeup for these photos. I've tried milkmaid braids before, but they never turned out this good. And the red lipstick is another big change. Really, I never wear lipstick... I always think that I want to start, but then I remember that my husband refuses to kiss me when I'm wearing lipstick, so~ (Has anyone else run into this problem?? haha) 

My sister and I. Yeah, I know we look nothing alike. No, neither one of us is adopted. 

I'm going camping this weekend with Ryan's family!

Smoke Bombs and Sparklers

Smoke bombs were a lot trickier to work with than I thought! I didn't realize that they'd run out of smoke so quickly! It would have been nice to have an assistant lighting the bombs each time. It was a bit hectic for both model and photographer to be running back and forth each time. At least I know for next time! But we did get a few really awesome shots~

Happy (belated...) July 4th

Happy America e'rrybody! 

My sister and I went out to the desert and played with sparklers and smoke bombs. 

Just like true Americans. 

And the rest of the night I edited photos and watched New Girl and Bob's Burgers.
