Photographs

 ^This is my absolute favorite^

I went on a mini adventure today with a couple of new friends. This old adobe was fenced off in Old Mesilla. I've wanted to trespass here before, and this time we found a spot in the old wire fence that was trampled. Perfect entrance.

I love you, New Mexico.

All photos by me.
Please don't steal :)

Day 26

A song that I can play on an instrument: Hedwig's Theme- John Williams
Alright, so I can't play the WHOLE thing. I can actually only play up until he does all the fancy trills. This is about the only song I can remember how to play on the piano.
HARRY POTTER FOR THE WIN.

Day 25

A song that makes me laugh: Miracles- Insane Clown Posse
Really?
(This song has got quite a few f-bombs, but if that kind of thing doesn't bother you, give a listen.)

Day 24 + Outfit Post

A song that I want to play at my funeral: The Body Breaks- Devendra Banhart
This isn't the best video audio wise, but it is the coolest visually. It reminds me of The Science of Sleep. I thought this song would be fitting for a funeral; it's sad but seems to have a happy sounding ending.

Sunglasses: how big is too big? These kept sliding off my nose. Does that mean I'll stop wearing them? Probably not.

Shirt: Rue 21
Skirt: Down East
Shoes: Payless
Sunglasses: thrifted
Necklace: Icing's
Bag: thrifted

Might I add that this skirt is the comfiest? <3

"Ex Men"

I totally stole this idea from a lovely gal named Sarah of Wearing it on My Sleeves. She had a fun post about the "ex men" in her life. It was too much fun of an idea to pass up. So, following are some anonymous letters to past relationships.

Dear First Kiss,
Our first kisses were each other, and it was... interesting. Our relationship was unknown to my parents until it was, and then "my whole world ended!" Yet we still managed to be together. You were set on marriage at the young age of 15 and I thought it might be kinda cool. It's a good thing I had to move away to New Mexico, otherwise I would have broken up with you in a much crueler way; I realized that you were annoying.

Dear Teddy Bear,
You were pretty chubby back then. You were funny, but impossible to talk to about serious things. I'm not sure what I was thinking. We broke up twice. Weird.

Dear Cool Guy,
We are of different faiths and that is what ultimately ended us. You are a pretty selfless guy. Thank you for teaching me how to love.

Dear Hook-Up,
Originally from Utah, you came to New Mexico for whatever reason it was. You wanted to kiss, and that was about it. So is that how they teach you to date in Utah? I was very vulnerable at the time, so it sucked pretty bad. You are a flirt and an affection whore.

Dear Nasal Voice,
You were a lot cuter in pictures. You were a fun guy, but a little too into your music and yourself. Thanks for the song you wrote me, and thanks for the other two songs you wrote to ask me on dates. My husband and I like to give them a listen for a good laugh sometimes.

Are there any letters you'd like to write to an ex? Please do so in the comment section :)

Day 23

A song that I want to play at my wedding / a song I played at my wedding: Here, There, and Everywhere- The Beatles
This is the song that Ryan and I danced to as a spankin' new married couple. So glad that we both have a soft spot for The Beatles.

What We Wore

I'm trying to take more pictures with Ryan. He's not a very photo loving person; he shies away from the camera whenever possible. I think he might be a little more comfortable with it now. Hopefully.
I don't know the specifics of Ryan's outfit, but I asked him to wear those green pants with that vintage tie. He has a marvelous collection full of fat ties from the 70s.

Headband: made it myself
Blouse: Savers
Skirt: Savers (vintage)
Heels: (not shown) vintage
Flats: Target (kid section...)

Ryan really surprised me when he showed up to the reception the next day. I had to be there earlier for pictures, so I wasn't able to see him get ready.
He's one of the coolest kids I know.

Sensiba Wedding

Holly's wedding day! It was a hot one, but we managed to stay in the shade.
I am incredibly short...

Here are a few of my favorite photos of the bride and groom

Day 22

A song that I listen to when I'm sad: Tomorrow- Sean Lennon
This song is ridiculously sad to me. If I listen to it with my full attention I'll shed a tear or two. I suppose it's because there was a time in my life that I could relate to it, and remembering that sadness is heartbreaking.

Day 21

A song I listen to when I'm happy: Love Me Dead- Ludo
I love this video. This song cracks me up. I love the "You're born of a jackal! You're beautiful!" If you hadn't heard this song, where were you in 2008? Listen. Now.

I'm just about on my way out. Little road trip, here we come.
But before that, I just wanna say thanks to my small amount of followers. Thanks, people! We're up to 9 :)

Day 20

A song that I listen to when I'm angry: Dressed for Friend Request- Drop Dead, Gorgeous
I'm not too sure if I listen to music when I'm angry, but if I were to, this would be the song. Definitely. I quite like this song. Don't judge.

First Day of Summer

I had totally forgotten that yesterday was the first day of Summer. I had been waiting for this day to do something fun. It's a good thing that I coincidentally did the most summery thing ever yesterday evening.
(Caution: an extremely large amount of photos are about to come your way.)

I hung out with these two gals for a photo shoot beside the Rio Grande.

I hadn't seen my friend Bianca in a year or so, and she kindly volunteered to pose for pictures.

Bianca is wearing (my clothes) :
dress: Charlotte Russe
belt: H&M
shoes: Payless
bow: Farmer's Market
My sister Melanie is always up for a photo shoot.

 Melanie is wearing:
dress: mine, thrifted & altered
necklace: mine, Splendid
flower bobby-pin: mine, Icing's
boots: ?

Can't have summer picnics without strawberries.

 Juicy.

There's sunshine upon her shoulder :)
The air smelled sweet. My nose has never experienced a smell as sweet as the fragrance of the air last night. Alright, I'm exaggerating. But I was surprised at how wonderful it did smell. Holy Moley.
I'm really pleased with how these roadside pictures turned out. The curve of the road makes it look more interesting, as opposed to her standing on the side of a straight one.

What a fun day.

My week is only going to get better! The husband and I are headed to Albuquerque tomorrow in preparation for my best friend's wedding! Holly and Ronnie will be married in the Albuquerque temple this Friday at 2pm. I'm glad I have the opportunity to witness this important time of her life and to document it as her wedding photographer. I've got a busy couple of days ahead of me.
I heart this girl.
